Reynaldo Guevara had a pattern of falsifying evidence to frame
innocent people, in 1991 the infamous Detective manufactured
a phony police line-up report to falsely finger 15 year old
Demetrius Johnson for murder.

20th Guevara Exoneree: Demetrius Johnson

Mr. Johnson was just 15 years old when he was arrested and
imprisoned as an innocent man. In December 2019 his convict-
ion was thrown out by the Illinois courts, making him the
twentieth person to have a wrongful homicide conviction tied
to Guevara thrown out. There was no physical evidence linking
Mr. Johnson to the crime, and he had an alibi—he was with
friends to watch the Bulls play in the 1991 NBA Finals. But his
exoneration did not come until decades later, when a Chicago
Police Department “street file” was unearthed. That file
contained evidence that Detective Guevara and his colleagues
had hid evidence of Mr. Johnson’s innocence and manufactured
a false police report in its place.

"Street files" can be simply explained as secret police files
that purposely hid evidence that would be beneficial to
criminal defendants.

Click below to view the report given to Demetrius and the
other report that was hidden by the police:

[Blue] = Line-ups conducted on June 12.
[Yellow] = Reynaldo Guevara present at both.
[Green] = Key eyewitness Aby Gonzalez views both.
[Red] = The lineup report that is disclosed says no one is
picked, but the line up report suppressed in police files shows
that a perpetrator was selected.

young son taken away, from a "broken heart" as he says. He
was not allowed to attend his mother's funeral.
