"I
Don't Exist!"
May 2009
Recently
I read a story about a girl who was wanted in Salt Lake City for
forgery who then moved to New York City to con people out of money
by saying that she had cancer. I found her email address and wrote
to her and then she wrote me back. I excitedly told this to Amy
who was unexcited that I had written to her. Later I was reading
an article about the con artist and a man described her as a person
in a Santa suit holding a sign that says “I Don’t
Exist”. I told Amy that I had read an article that mentioned
this, but I didn’t mention that it was an article about
the con artist. Amy soon discovered that the phrase came from
the article about the con artist. In her head I imagine she thought,
“WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY BOYFRIEND.”
