I'm not embarrassed by the recording at all -- that's
good stuff!  But it's not yours to distribute or
broadcast or publicly perform in any way.  I'll
release it when and where I want to.  Probably in the
original context of some vaguely sympathetic songs
about lonely, repressed, overeducated caucasians. 
Like that one that's supposed to be Archer Prewitt
singing a Momus song, hardly anybody has heard that
one.

But God, why DID I give you that tape?  Why, why, WHY
do us Artists do the things we do?     

Like I've always wondered why anyone would adopt the
alias of a member of the Manson gang and mail a
stranger an obscene CD out of the blue.  Seems kind of
like something a stalker would do, which I suppose is
why you made up a story for the Reader about leaving
the CD at a club.  

I guess maybe some people just like to try and freak
other people out while remaining safe and anonymous
and immune from human contact?  

Your work raises so many fascinating questions!  It
gains depth with every year...
